Discovery Place is a private, not-for-profit organization that works to inspire the exploration of science and the natural world using exhibits and educational programs to inform, challenge and engage audiences. Discovery Place has a network of four hands-on museums in three different cities in the Carolinas, cementing them as a leader in STEM education in the area.

Insider Tours VR Experience

They say it’s not what’s on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Over the course of eight months, we developed a custom educational virtual reality (VR) experience for the Discovery Place museum in North Carolina. The experience helps educate museum attendees on key elements of the human body such as the cardiovascular system, the digestive tract, and air pathways. This is accomplished by shrinking the user is down to explore the human body (in VR of course). On their travels, they learn how the human body functions through amazing visuals and audio interaction.

The installation is equipped with four of our rumbling platforms that add a multi-sensory effect to the experience, making it even more immersive. The rumbling platform allows the user to feel the engine of the ship and the bodily functions of the human host you are traveling through. Discovery Place has built the exhibit within a train alongside an animatronic companion bot, Zoey.

Facebook Insights

We use the Facebook Insights function in connection with the operation of the Facebook Fan Page and on the basis of the GDPR, in order to obtain anonymized statistical data about Our users.
