SimWave Bringing The Vimy Ridge Virtual Reality Experience, to Vimy Ridge
7,500 student travelling with Education First tours Canada will get to experience our new Vimy Ridge experience right before the Vimy memorial on April 10th at Vimy Ridge. We will have our Virtual Reality headsets and Rumbling platforms set up to commemorate this historical day.
With this experience, students will learn about the artillery used during WW1, the underground excavations, and the trenches of Vimy. They will also see the strategy used for the bombardment, the uniforms that were worn, and why Vimy was such a historical moment for Canada and France.
Some highlights that the students will be able to experience are:
A 3D fully immersive experience powered by Oculus Rift technology and Buttkicker Rumbling platform.
Impeccable graphic designs created by the SimWave graphic design team, using Unity and Adobe Suite Creative.
Leap Motion Technology as you can physically interact with the scene, handling a bayonet and the Lewis gun in 3D.
As a Canadian Virtual Reality company, we wanted to commemorate the great acts of Canadian soldiers. We have recreated these monumental moments, for people to get a small glimpse into what these soldiers went through at Vimy Ridge. Our soldiers stayed strong, encourage one another to get through the bombardment of that battle, and came up with an impeccable strategy to get through enemy lines that had been impenetrable.
We look forward to The Memorial on April 10th 2017 for the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge to honour those who have fought for our country. This experience will also be at the Royal Canadian Regiment Museum this Spring.
If you would like to share this unforgettable experience with a group of students please contact us at SimWave to arrange a viewing experience.
