The first public unveiling of our virtual reality exhibit was a success! There were people from all over Ottawa today at Pitchfest which allowed us to create great connections with businesses from completely different industries. Our virtual reality booth was one of the main attractions of the expo, receiving attention from everyone who attended with lineups of people awaiting to try it out. We spoke to people in the medical, educational, museum, entertainment, tourism and festival sectors. They all showed great interest in our work. We also had a virtual reality google cardboard demonstration available where users could navigate through the 3D models, that Nathan modeled. It was displayed using the S5 and S6 Edge Samsung phones. Behind all that was an interactive projection created with Touchdesigner. When users were in front of the Intel RealSense camera, a point cloud mesh of the user would be represented on the screen and the depth data would displace our logo in the background. Thanks to Adam.
Joaquin: There are times in your career where you make decisions based on what you think is best. What one’s person’s best is not necessarily another person’s. Yet they are still the best at something. The key to having a harmonious team is everyone bringing out each other’s best. This is one of the best times in the early life of VR and I am very proud of the work that our team produced in the short amount of time that we have been together and known each other. Thank you. More to come 🙂
